Am amazing and quite easy two hour walk between the towns. There is a tea house mid way that, for the last 300 years, has given out free tea and fruit to travellers.
This is a really fun walk and great way to view the Japanese countryside. Drop your bags at the tourist center in one town by 11AM and walk the 5 miles freely to the other.
